E-mail is Down, Yo!

Actually, all of UglyTown.com is down. Tom and I are doing a much-needed server switch. Things should be back to normal in a day or so. Any pressing matters for me, please send to jim at jimpascoe.com.

Emmy!

I am thrilled to announced that I have been nominated for an Emmy Award for my work in creating the Interactive TV Show: "JETIX Cards Live!"

The award category is "Outstanding Achievement in Interactive Television." It is a jury-selected Creative Arts Award that is a part of the 2004 Primetime Emmy Awards. The winners will be announced in a televised event, broadcast on E!, held on September 12.

I am thrilled beyond belief.

Back from NYC

It's been a while, I know. I got crunched with a true up-against-the-wall deadline from Disney Press, for what will be my third book with them (though it's the fourth book I've been contracted for). After the fun of my birthday (thanks to all!), I spent a solid week doing nothing but writing and hiding in isolation.

Then I went to New York.

While I couldn't pass up the opportunity to hand in my manuscript by hand, I wasn't really there on business. In fact, everyone seemed to ask me: are you here on business or pleasure? It took me the longest time to finally fess up: I'm here on vacation. It was a rare chance (for me) to really do nothing (by my standards -- I still spent a bunch of time in Manhattan diners writing a short story).

Now, it's catch-up time. Funny how that circle remains unbroken.
